It’s happening! The first official day of Fall is September 22 and I, for one, am beyond excited. It’s that time of year when we put away the shorts and sandals and break out our thick sweaters and ankle boots. But, outside the fashion world, other things are happening inside our homes, as well. Candles show up on our mantels, throw blankets become a constant companion on our sofas, and there’s always a steady supply of wood by the fireplace. Indoors, the transition from Summer to Fall can sometimes be a subtle one but there are plenty of styling tips for making our homes cozy and comfortable as we prepare for cooler days ahead. Just take a look at these impressive spaces if you’re needing a little inspiration…
Nothing says “Fall” like moody gray walls, warm flannel blankets, and a dark leather sofa. I’m also loving the slender taper candles on the mantel and the dried florals on the coffee table.
In the dining room, bare branches and sheepskin throws are the perfect accents for your table and chairs. A hefty pile of firewood in the corner adds a really nice touch.
Fall is also the perfect time to start changing out those flower arrangements. Opt for a jewel tone palette that includes lots of burgundy and hunter green, with a little bit of ivory thrown in for good measure.
Speaking of rich colors, how amazing is this room?! Choosing a dark tone for the walls and ceiling really helps to create that cozy, den-like feel. A brightly colored persian rug is just enough to break up the monotony.
Bedrooms are, by far, one of my favorite rooms to style during the cooler months. Just be sure to choose a uniquely patterned rug, pile on the neutral accent pillows, and throw a warm, knitted blanket on top of your comforter….the chunkier, the better.
