Life’s little luxuries… What does that bring to mind for you? When Marsha from Splenderosa asked us for this month’s By Invitation Only group, did we think of furs and diamonds and yachts? Nope. It probably won’t surprise you that the first things that came to mind for us were the little things that make our homes feel special and loved. Like a gorgeous bouquet of fresh flowers beside our favorite chair, making the living room come to life. (Make sure you stop by Splenderosa to see what our other BIO friends chose!)

Even a tiny vase of flowers by the sink is such a great way to wake up. And a morning kitchen? It goes without saying that having a cup of coffee or hot tea waiting by the sink would make crawling out of bed a little sweeter.

But, as for “little” luxuries, stacks of perfectly white, fluffy towels are one of life’s best. So simple but so special all the same.

We so agree with Myra Hoefer. Opening the linen closet to a stack of clean, fresh, white towels creates an instant sense of mental order. (Sometimes when my house is a mess that I don’t feel like I can tackle, I open my linen closet to make me feel on-balance again! Mom’s house is never a mess so she doesn’t have to employ this tactic!)

Little touches of glamour in unexpected places, like this stunning crystal chandelier in the kitchen, make ordinary moments feel extraordinarily lovely.

And a fabulous Venetian mirror is another elegant touch. Don’t even get us started on the bathtub…

A special and inspirational office space is always amazing. And a fabulous scented candle is one of our top, must-have little luxuries. It’s a thrill for so many senses!

Maybe it was Sex and the City or maybe it dates back much, much farther, but a fabulous, totally organized closet? Now that’s luxury. What you fill it with is up to you, but here are a few things we would choose…

Emerging from your spectacular closet and climbing into the bed with beautiful linens, freshly pressed, of course, is a total joy.

If you get to soak in an amazing tub first, so much the better!
Thanks so much, Marsha, for letting us talk about our favorite little luxuries today.
What are your favorite luxuries, sweet readers?
