A couple weeks ago I invited a few of my favorite boss lady friends over to break in the new studio. I’ve been working so much lately and all the women that came are killing it too so I used the newly finished space as an excuse to lure them all over to take a much needed midweek break for brunch and bubbles.
Dasani Sparkling supplied all the sparkling water we could drink as we tested out the new flavors (raspberry lemonade was the clear favorite of the day) while munching chicken and waffle bites, yogurt parfaits, frittatas, and breakfast tartines.

I ended up making these tables the weekend before the party. I had a marble dining table recently delivered to the studio and I repurposed the wooden crate it shipped in to make two 52” square tabletops. Then I went to Home Depot and bought 5, 8’ long, 2x4s and made the bases. Finally I painted the entire thing in “Equestrian Green” by Behr and attached the bases to the tops. I found these body pillows at Target which were big enough to accommodate two people and used 8 of them for the low fancy picnic style seating. I had 12 guests so we fit 6 at each table and it worked out pretty perfect (except the part where I forgot to make myself a place setting!).
A wild ethereal centerpiece of blushes and greens, made the whole tablescape. Believe it or not this was the first time I ever hired someone to do flowers for an event (including my wedding!) and I am so so happy I did. Pulling this party together in a week meant it was one last thing to do (especially since I was wallpapering the studio myself at 11:00 at night the night before) and Moon Canyon obviously did way better than I could ever have dreamed to do. It is amazing how flowers can transform a space.
I always like handmade party favors so I sent everyone home with a small wood cutting board which also served as the first layer of their place setting. I have had my eye on these marble plates for a while and used the party as an excuse to purchase them, and I finished off the setting with blush pink napkins, a black salad plate, gold flatware, and a swatch of my pink wallpaper as a place card.
