i’m not sure why exactly, but i love a feminine display of beauty products. maybe it’s the memory of watching my mum get ready for a night out with my dad when i was little. she’d always do a little facial mask before putting on her makeup and then peel it off and let me run around with it on my face — sorta gross, but i loved it. then i’d watch her apply false eyelashes and lipstick — sometimes i’d get a little swipe of it too. add a little chanel no. 5 and she was out the door, leaving me to drive my babysitter crazy by endlessly brushing her hair and requesting that i apply her makeup. can’t take the little girl out of the grown woman sometimes, so i guess that’s why i’m so drawn to these little vanities and keep my own personal stash of beauty favorites (just below) on my bathroom vanity as well.
